April 21, 2002- New Beginnings

I'm sitting here in my Grandfather's office at SereJedi, looking out at Ando's peak. It seems odd for the Academy to be here but it also feels right.
We arrived a few days ago so things are a little hectic around here. Most of the students and the instructors are here. Auresta and the Psychlorian contingent came a week ago. That was very helpful in getting things organized.
We got a few things in order today and then went back to Whildary, my Grandfather's estate where we are staying. Before leaving I spoke a little bit with Lana who has come to Ando Prime to help out at the Academy. She's good to have around. Very smart and bright and the students respect her a great deal. Then Auresta and I went with Jade in her speeder over to Whildary. Jade is here to train with us. I'm glad she is as I think anyone with Force sensitivity like hers should have some formal training. It certainly can't hurt but it will be up to the Council to decide if she will be allowed to do so. They tend to be wary to train anyone who has not started as a small child. But, they allowed Dash to train so there may be hope for Jade.
As we arrived home we saw a familiar looking space ship arriving. It looked like the Outrider but it was a newer model or at least a more up to date one. I knew it was Dash just by his piloting techniques. Sure enough, he set the ship gently on the landing pad and bounded down the ramp to greet us. I could tell by the look on his face that he was extremely happy to have the Outrider back in service again. I tried to feign annoyment but I didn't succeed. I was overjoyed to see him back to his old self again. It's been a while coming and it only makes our transition to Ando that much better.
We all went inside and had a nice get together with good conversation and good food of course thanks to Koshay. She and Rhe were there with the twins and our Soryn and the evening was over far too quickly. My Oma was there too of course and seems to be getting more confused every day. Still, she's a dear soul and I love having her around. Grandfather on the other hand tries to escape everytime he hears her call "Darwoooood!". He took off like a wounded womprat when Oma got too much for him and went to the stables. Eventually everyone else left and Dash, Soryn and I were left alone. After Dash took Soryn up to bed we talked and he told me that he was worried about me pushing myself to work while I'm pregnant. I wish he wouldn't worry so much but I have to admit it gives me a nice feeling to know how much he loves me. He's concerned about me and his new little mishkin and I can't fault him for that so I will cut down on my duties.....for the time being.
When Grandfather returned home he had a visitor with him. A young boy who at first didn't know his own name. He was very polite and from what I could gather has had some very proper upbringing somewhere along the way.
At that point, Grandfather decided to put Merlin back in his stall and excused himself to go to the stables. Dash quickly followed him and I suspect he had something he needed to speak to him in private about.
That left me and the boy alone. I took him into the kitchen and made him something to eat which he ravenously devoured. He must have been hungry to eat my cooking so quickly or maybe I'm getting better at it.
Eventually he remembered his name. It's Jacy, but he still has a lot of misplaced memories that I hope will one day resurface again. Until that time, I'd like him to remain here in our care. After all, he is only ten years old and this planet can be very nasty to someone who tries to live out in the elements. Jacy was fascinated by what he called 'the waterfalls'. Actually it was the faucets in the sink that he'd never seen before. This child is from a culture very different than ours, of that I am sure. Not long afterwards, Dash and Grandfather returned and we tried to explain to Jacy about our own culture.Unfortunately he seemed rather frightened of us. When Dash levitated him with the Force the poor boy took off in fright with Grandfather chasing after him.
He disappeared into the night and although Grandfather didn't go after him, he left the door unlocked hoping that he would return.
It was Gray and Skull that found him early the next morning. They were down by the Loch and saw Jacy up to his knees in the cold waters. I suppose being so close in age, it was easier for Jacy to indentify with Gray and from what I gather, they had no trouble becoming fast friends. Gray eventually  talked Jacy into coming back with him and let him sleep in the top bunk in his room. I'm glad he did. I like this little boy and I'd like to think The Force guided him to us for a reason and now it is up to us to find out what that reason is.

April 28, 2002-A Visitor

No sooner had we begun to get ourselves accustomed to our new surroundings when I recieved a comm from the Old Folk's Home. That's the code name for the Jedi Temple. Master Yoda was arriving from Coruscant and I hardly had time to get ready before Jade and I hurried off to meet his transport. You don't keep Yoda waiting. You'll not hear the end of it if you do.
We escorted the Master back to SereJedi where we had a small reception for him while he inspected the Academy. Auresta, calm and collected as usual had the building in tip top shape and all the students were on their best behavior. All except my little Jedi, Soryn. I noticed he couldn't keep still and had poor Auresta a bit frazzled when he told her he had to pee. That's kids for you. He knew he had to go and Yoda or not, he was going.
Grandfather finally appeared then, after Jade went to find him and he took over my hosting duties for me. As we were all talking and Yoda was inspecting the 'younglings' as he calls them, Rhe and Koshay arrived accompanied by another new student who's name is Jessa. She's nineteen and is a Jedi apprentice but her situation is unique. Her Master has been killed and the Council has decided not to transfer her to another Master. Instead, she will train with our instructors, students and Masters here at SereJedi. It's a challenge but our Academy is most likely the best in the galaxy for something like this. We have many rich resources and a great deal of talent.
Lana was there as well although I didn't have much chance to speak with her but I did see her talking to Jade. I was also quite interested when I saw Master Yoda speak with Jade. Jade tells me that the Master has granted his approval to have her begin training here with us. I think she's a little skeptical and perhaps doubtful but all we can do is try to make her stay here a productive one.
Yoda gave his blessing to the Beton twins also. Ohica and Apicata are growing strong in the Force and are to be trained at our Academy. I think Rhe and Koshay were quite pleased to hear the Master tell them this. I know what it is like to be worried about where your child will have their training. I had worried over Soryn but the Council saw no reason to separate our family and he will be trained here also. He looks so cute in his little outfit.
Yoda left shortly after, having found SereJedi to be highly acceptable for the students. No sooner had things started to calm down again when I got a comm telling me that a couple of the Jedi knights had found a body washed up on the shores of Loch Moy. They took the man to the morgue at the infirmary and we started an investigation as best we could considering there wasn't much to go by. Jade went out to the site and scouted the beach for clues while the rest of us debated on who this man was and how his death could have occured. During our talk, my Oma wandered into SereJedi. She's doing a lot of that lately and I hope she won't end up getting lost one of these days. She got very muddled with everyone talking and continues to get people's names mixed up. Poor Rhe, she calls him Roy but he just smiles and carries on like nothings wrong.
There wasn't much else we could do, so everyone went their separate ways for the day. I took Oma home and saw her safely to her room then I checked on Graystar and Jacy. Jacy was sick with a cold, poor kid. Most likely from his night spent outdoors but Gray took good care of him and I think he's no worse for wear.

May 5, 2002-Mystery Solved

The case of victim #327: Lochmoy, has been solved although there is still some investigation to be done. Although through Jacy we discovered that the body we found on the shores of Loch Moy was that of the man who had most likely saved our little friend from death, we still do not know his true identity. Nor do we know much more about Jacy. He has snippets of remembering things in his past but nothing substantial enough to help us discover his origins.
I've been thinking a lot about this and I believe there is one who can help us to unravel this puzzle. I've put a comm into the Old Folks Home and am expecting to hear back this evening. If I am right, Master Yoda will be returning to Ando Prime sooner than we expected.

May 19, 2002- A Council request for Rhe

Whildary was unusually quiet today. All the Knights and their padawans, including Dash and Graystar had left early on a field trip to Mount Ando. Studying the spiritual aspects of the Force from such a grand place can be very enlightening for the young students. I declined going today as I felt a bit nauseas when I got up this morning. It didn't last too long though and my appetite came bounding back.
I was sitting in the kitchen with Koshay and I think I was on my third muffin when I heard voices coming from the common room. To my surprise (and I'm sure Auresta's delight) in walked Qui-Gon with Res. It's always nice to see Jinny. It reminds me of my days at the Temple when I was a Knight. We had some good sparring matches and Qui-Gon is a very good opponent. However, he wasn't here to challenge me to anything like that. In fact, he wasn't here to see me or any other Jedi for that matter. He came to see Rhe.
Koshay commed Rhe, who was out in his ultralight and when he arrived back home, Qui-Gon proceeded to relay a special request to him from the Council.
It seems that Master Yoda has ordered the building of some very special starfighers, the Delta-6 prototypes, to be used solely by the Jedi. However, Yoda is quite aware what a skilled pilot Rhe is and sent Jinny to ask him to oversee the pilot project here on Ando Prime.
Rhe enthusiastically agreed and I'm very glad to see the Council give him the nod for all the years he has aided the Jedi on our missions. It is nice to see him recognized in that way.
The starfighters will be delivered by the end of next week. According to Qui-Gon we will recieve two out of the ten that were commissioned. Rhe is to test fly them at first and then begin training the students that Auresta will recommend.
During Qui-Gon's visit we had another suprise at our door. I didn't recognized her at first because of the business suit and the hairstyle but it didn't take me long to finally realize that Methai had arrived. She was a bit vague as to why she looked that way but I didn't press her about it. I did find out that she had been on Coruscant for a while and was staying with Senator Xepia Ahn.
Unfortunately she didn't stay very long but she told us that she would be back again soon. I hope she will. I know that everyone else will be sorry they missed her visit and hopefully will see her next time.
Qui-Gon left shortly after Methai did. Obi-Wan picked him up on the way back to Coruscant but Jinny assured us that he will return soon. I think he wants to check out these new ships for himself.
Just before I left to go into town to buy Cae's birthday gift I asked Rhe if he would teach me to fly one of the Delta 6's. He gave me a funny look as if to say 'you've got to be kidding', which I was. Dash would surely have something to say to me about that. I was kidding of course. Well, maybe......after I have the baby I just might go for a little spin.

The Delta-6 Prototype Starfighter

May 26, 2002- Shattered Crystal-Part One

The new Delta-Six prototypes arrived today and I was a little surprised to see my brother delivering them. I guess he still does the odd job now and then. He always was a softie for any request from Qui-Gon. I assume that's who hired him for the job. The starfighters have sparked some interest in the residents here and I for one find the little crafts to be very exciting. Each one comes with it's own Astromech droid and there is talk that the Kuat yards are also developing a way for the ships to travel great distances in hyperspace. So of course, everyone wants to fly them. Rhe will have a great deal of scheduling to do and he's going to be very busy making sure the chosen students are properly trained.
Jodin also brought news of some terrible things happening on Crystaire. That is the planet that Oma is from and when she hears I'm sure she will be distressed. Although, with her memory lately, she may not even connect. I hope she does though, Jodin says that Bitts asked if he would bring her back. Along with the mission crew here, we will have to decide if she is well enough to go. Grandfather says he needs to talk to Auresta about it but he didn't say anything else. I have no idea what he has in mind.
I won't be going on the mission. I've been feeling very tired lately and I think I would be more of a burden to them....and possibly put them in danger. I wouldn't want that although I will be very anxious the whole time they're gone. Especially about Dash. I need him and so do his children but I can't make him stay home on my account. I won't stifle him in any way. I trust in the Force to protect him and bring him home to me.
I'll make sure to keep myself busy around here with Jacy and Gray, and I'm not sure if Jessa is going too but if not, I'll do a bit of preparation with her for the lightsabre classes. She is taking over for me until I have the baby and am ready to come back. I have great faith that I chose the right student to take on such a task.
We got word from Coruscant that Master Yoda will be bringing a new student with him on his next visit to Ando. I believe that is in a few days. Grandfather is hoping that Yoda may be able to help work out a plan to save the Crystal planet from imploding.
Methai was very helpful in tracking the co-ordinates back to Crystaire. She usually is, it's a talent of hers. It's been nice to have her here. I have many friends who've made the journey to Ando an easy transition for me. What with Rhe, Koshay, Auresta, Lana, Methai, Jade....and new residents, Jessa and Jacy, it's made me think that perhaps this move is all part of our destiny; not just mine and my family's.
There was another female at Whildary when we arrived back. Her name is Blindside but I have yet to meet her. Grandfather did and says she's told him she's a mechanic. Swoops specifically. I should introduce her to Jodin, he might need a mechanic for his racing swoops. If she comes around again, maybe I will.
I laughed as I watched Jacy and Graystar playing hide and seek. It reminded me of when Cae and I used to play games when we were little. Except she'd thump me pretty hard if I won any. Jacy seems to be very comfortable with us and I'm very glad he's here. Watching children play reminds all of us what life is all about. I'm especially glad when Grandfather and Viktor are there too and I see them chuckling quite often at the boys. Laughter is definitely the best medicine....something we have a lot of on Ando Prime. Grandfather and Viktor went upstairs to finish their chessgame and Jessa had the boys well in hand so Dash and I went up to our room. I heard some commotion from downstairs and a door slam but I sensed that things were alright a little while later. I think Jessa even tucked the boys into bed. I'll have to thank her tomorrow.

June 2, 2002-Shattered Crystal-Part Two

I was researching more on the mysterious disappearance of Crystaire today. As I sat in Grandfather's comfy leather chair at SereJedi, I couldn't help but be a bit curious to find out how Jessa was doing in her first lightsabre class. She's taken over for me until after I have the baby. I switched on the comm as quietly as I could and caught the last moments of Jessa speaking to the students. From what I heard she's going to be a very good instructor and I know I made a good choice. She even knew that I was listening. She asked me how I thought she'd done and even though I know she couldn't see me, I blushed a little bit for getting caught eavesdropping. All with good intent however.
Dash came in just after I had gotten back to my research and we discussed the strange gravity tracemarks where Crystaire should be. Neither of us could figure it out and I mentioned perhaps Master Yoda could when he arrived. Sure enough, it wasn't long after that he and Dad came up to the office together. Yoda was interested in hearing how the initiates were doing so I commed Auresta. She would be the best person to report on that.  We all went downstairs to the main training room and found quite a few people there. Grandfather had arrived with Jade and Jessa and Lana were there with the students. There was also a new student that Master Yoda had brought with him. A small girl named Satori. She seems very shy but very cute. I haven't had a chance to meet her yet but I look forward in doing so.  Jessa and Lana took charge of Satori and I didn't see much of her what with all the fuss over Yoda's visit and our discussion of Crystaire.
Auresta gave Yoda a glowing report on our students and then I took my cue to ask him about the missing planet. Dash put the holo in the projector and we all watched as the galaxy appeared before our eyes. It's really quite amazing to see it in miniature form. Yoda gathered the children around him as Dash explained the mystery and I felt a little embarrassed for Dash when Yoda jokingly chided him for losing a planet. After all, Dash didn't lose it, it disappeared. Ah well, that's Master Yoda's brand of humor. All in good fun. He asked the students their opinion and one little boy stepped forward. Liam said, "Someone erased it from the archives". Well, from the mouths of babes I say. Sure enough, that must be what happened. In fact Yoda definitely agreed that this was the case and was quite perturbed.
Then the strangest thing happened. First Grandfather went quite pale and breathless and had to sit down. Jade went to get him his medicine and thankfully it helped him but then dear Viktor suddenly collapsed to the floor. Master Yoda was right there and quickly determined that he had been poisoned but by what or whom he couldn't tell.
Sadly, Viktor remained unconcious and Dash was beside himself with worry. Viktor has already been through so much. Dash and Jade quickly moved him to the infirmary and I followed with Grandfather. The healers quickly took over and as we talked about the recent chain of events, Master Yoda entered the room. He gave his opinions about why Grandfather and Viktor had both taken ill. He believes, as do most of us, that they were poisoned to keep them away from investigating the occurrences on Crystaire. Whoever did this has gone to a lot of trouble to try to stop the Jedi from finding out what's going on. But it won't stop us. We will find out and we'll put an end to the situation. At least, Dash and the team will. I won't be going on the mission. I would have liked to but I'm too far along in my pregnancy to be of any help. I might even endanger the team. So reluctantly I'll stay behind. I'm sure I'll be fine though. Jessa, Jacy, Gray and I can find lots to do.
Funny though, it's Auresta's first mission (She's going to accompany Oma) and I won't even be there for her. My strength and prayers go with all of them.
We did have a little comic relief a short time later. Jessa and Lana came to see how Viktor was and brought Jacy and Satori with them. Jacy's such a cute kid but my he certainly has no qualms about saying what's on his mind. He took one look at Yoda and almost turned the same shade of green as our little Master. I suppose it could be a shock for someone who has never seen him. He blurted out "He's a troll!" for all to hear. Oh my, I didn't know where to look. I looked at Yoda and I sensed the Master was very amused by Jacy's reaction. Yoda loves children, or younglings as he calls them and he wisely spoke to Jacy and eventually put him at ease. He has that way with people. I suppose that's part of the reason he is such a great Master.
The day finally took it's toll on me and as usual these days I began to feel extremely tired. I also wanted to check on Soryn so Dash, being the sweet and caring man he is, took me back to Whildary. We left Yoda with Jacy and Satori and we couldn't have left them in better hands. I'm sure he enjoyed his talk with them. It will be a calming effect for when he leads the team on the mission. May the Force be with them all.

June 09, 2002-A Death in the Family

I felt something disturbing, even before the Outrider landed. As I hurried to meet my family and friends, my heart told me that things had not all gone as planned. The first out of the ship were Jacy and Jessa; two that should not have been there in the first place. Although I should have chastized them both for stowing away, my thoughts were focused elsewhere. Jessa was elusive in her reply to my question and I thought I heard Jacy say something about Jodin being executed. As I stood trying to get a grasp on things, my focus turned to the ship again. Exiting were Jodin, Methai, and Dash, who was carrying what looked like a body. As I approached them I could tell something was wrong. Dash couldn't even meet my gaze. He hesitated when I asked who it was but finally told me that it was my niece, Adana. What was worse was how she died. My brother Jodin, her Uncle had killed her. It was a shock but I immediately went into Jedi mode. I told Dash to take Adana to the infirmary and alert the healers that they would be performing an autopsy on her. I then took Jodin back to Whildary. Methai was very quiet and I assumed she was not pleased with the fact that Dash had taken my brother into custody for the crime that he had obviously committed.
When we got back home, I released the restraints that bound Jodin's hands and he quickly went upstairs to his room. Master Yoda has ordered Dash to keep him in custody until the Council meets to decide his fate.
Not long after, Methai came downstairs with her things and told me that she was leaving Ando Prime. She seemed to be very angry with everyone and at the time, I really didn't care. My thoughts were on Jodin and what would happen next. I bade goodbye to Methai and I wish her well, wherever she is going.
I began to become concerned for Dash. He was too long at the infirmary for my liking and I had not liked the feeling I had gotten when he carried Adana out of the Outrider. It was as if he couldn't face me with something that my brother had done. I couldn't wait for him to return so I decided to go and find him myself. I felt that he was closeby and as I passed the stables I felt his presence growing stronger. Sure enough, he was there with Isis, his horse. With a little prodding, he finally opened up to me and told me that what Jodin did had reminded him of the time when he had come close to killing my sister, Cae. Although he didn't, he was dealing with the 'what if' syndrome. What if he had killed her, would he have been punished? Would he have been banished from the Jedi Order? Obviously I would say no, as his choice was under different circumstances. Or was it? Cae was out cold, just as Adana was when Jodin delivered the fatal shot. It would have been the same situation. I reassured Dash that I understood his anguish but the fact is that he didn't kill Cae and she turned back to the Light side of the Force. Whether Adana would is something that we will never know but I have a hunch that she was much deeper into the DarkSide than my sister was.
And now, I close my journal for today as I must contact Cae on Alderaan and tell her the news. I don't know how she will react. As a mother this would devastate me but Cae never knew her daughter. She never saw the child when it was born. There was no bond formed. How truly sad that is.
